The HTML Blog, Code In Everyday Life

If everyday conversations were in HTML

HTML helps Web designers out writing pages, why not real life?

Wouldn’t it be good if we could use HTML tags more in everyday life?

Things would be so simple…

Just imaging having…

  • No more screwed up conversations and arguments caused by misunderstood chat messages
  • The ability to spot sarcasm or humor without adding lol or a 🙂
  • The ability to give instructions clearly
  • The ability to find out if that hot chick/guy really likes you, just wants to sell you Amway products or steal your kidneys

Do you want an example?

OK.

without HTML tagged instant messages:

Tracy: What do you want for your birthday?

Sam: I want something small sleek and hi tech which will go from 0 to 200 in three seconds.

Tracy: Oh ok no problems.

Sam was later shocked to find that Tracy had bought him a pair of scales… the divorce comes through Monday.

now if that conversation had a HTML tag he could have gone.

Tracy: What do you want for your birthday?

Sam: I want something <a red sportscar> small sleek and hi tech which will go from 0 to 200 in three seconds.</a red sports car>

Tracy: <pfft dream on sucker>Oh ok no problems.</pfft dream on sucker>

Sam wouldn’t be disappointed.

If anybody needs it it’s George Bush’s speachwriters. They could eliminate the smiles, nods, mispronunciations and inappropriate laughter in a matter of minutes.
